This qualification is principally (although not exclusively) aimed at people working in pest control, who will be better equipped to carry out their professional duties safely, efficiently and humanely. It is designed to provide an understanding of public health pests, methods of control and fulfills the legal requirement relating to the training of pest control technicians, as set out in the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986.
Holders of this qualification will have a good understanding of rodent control, invertebrate control, health & safety and accident prevention, legislation, customer care and awareness of non-target mammals and birds.
The qualification is divided into three units - Vertebrate Pests, Invertebrate Pests and Health & Safety and Legal Aspects.
It is assessed by a synoptic examination which is two hours and thirty minutes in duration. This qualification is offered jointly by RSPH and BCPA (the British Pest Control Association) and was produced with the support and endorsement of the pest control industry.
The course will be held over a period of weeks (one day per week - 10/04/2014 to 23/05/2014) with an examination. Previous delegates have told us that running the course one day a week is a fantastic way to study and as a result we have one of the highest RSPH Level 2 passv rates in the industry.
We recommend you bring a copy of the British Pest Manual (Available from SX Environmental HERE)
